It's very easy to use Driving Directions in Google Earth. Practically, the process is the same as in Google Maps. First you have to use a Placemark which will be the starting point and then navigate to the destination and right click it, then choose To Here. At this point, Google Earth will initiate the driving directions module and calculate the path based on your settings. You can drag the path to make it more suitable based on your preferences.

Another way is to use Search to type an address, then switch to the Directions tab to enter the arrival destination: Google Earth will create it for you.

You will need to have Google Earth installed before you can actually access this function. Once Google Earth is installed properly, start it and then go to Tools > Enter Flight Simulator. Or you could directly press CTRL + Alt + A using your keyboard.

The box will open allowing you to customize the aircraft and the start position. If you have a Joystick, make sure to check this option to control everything from the joystick.

How can I get live data from Google Earth program?

D
Answer by Dan Angel

Unfortunately, you can't get live data from Google Earth program. The application is using old pictures and some places are not updated for many years. If you have issues using the software, check the tutorials provided by the developer. Also, you can check Google Earth Help Center.

What is the procedure for importing sites from MapInfo to Google Earth?

Murtuza
Answer by Murtuza

MapInfo Professional (MiPro) Version 8 (or a later version) allows users to download a utility that will allow them to map images such as the contents of a thematic map, Map Objects such as custom territory boundaries or a path of a hurricane to Google Earth... This is a one way translation only between the two products. However, if you've convinced yourself (or your management has convinced you) that you really want the visualization tools of Google Earth, this is exactly what you need... MapInfo Professional Google Earth Link Utility can be downloaded from the MapInfo website...The site also provides instructions on how to download a 20 day evaluation of MIPro v8.0 for customers that do not have MapInfo Professional.

You can download Google Earth through the application's page at Software Informer or from the official website.

Download the setup package and then install it. Once finished, the installer will place a shortcut to the application on the Desktop of your computer.

I have Windows 7 64-bit and 3D Max version is 2012. I can't launch Google Earth.

Answer by Sean Hill

Try to update Google Earth to its latest version because it's compatible with Windows 7 x64. I have tested the installation and it's working nice in Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. You can download it from the official website.

I really want to know how can I "walk" on the street. Once I did it but then forgot. Can you help?

Murtuza
Answer by Murtuza

Google added an impressive update to Google Maps... Some select streets are available in 3D... This means you can virtually walk through streets and change the camera angle...
Some examples: Howard Street, San Francisco, Google Campus, New York and Luxor, Las Vegas...
It's pretty awesome but the amount of locations that have this kind of 3D imagery are extremely limited.

Extract POIs from Google Earth could be hard to accomplish due to the information which is dynamic. It means that the further you zoom, the more information pops up but it can be achieved manually. Please follow the steps below in order to save POIs as the KML format.

. First select the area of interest (restaurants, cinemas, pubs, etc).
. Then Save it in My Place
. Perform the next search and repeat until you have enough POIs saved in My Place.
. Go to each saved place and save it as KML format.
. Use a tool like GPS Converter and add the contents until you are done (Open > Copy > Paste and repeat)
. Save the big file as KML
. Use a text editor and open the file and remove unnecessary data.

I need to update Google Earth. How can I do that?

Stephen Prastman
Answer by Stephen Prastman

You can download the latest version of Google Earth from its official location. There is no need to remove the previous version because the installer will overwrite all the files that need updating.
